OPUS
Selected Artworks

The Opus series embodies the universal process of transformation from formless matter to geometric perfection, translating into visual language the path of spiritual elevation found in hermetic, philosophical and theological traditions. The works document the evolution from an initial chaotic state-rendered through magmatic textures and reactive pigments-to the completeness of the sphere, an archetypal form that Plato attributed to celestial bodies and that the Renaissance considered a “perfect figure” and in many traditions a symbol of God. These works stand as a catalyst for the work of refinement that takes place in each human being. The work of art understood as a catalyst for inner alchemy. Just as the alchemist turns lead into gold, so each human being can transmute his or her formless nature into perfect essence.
