THE 5 ELEMENTS

This series draws inspiration from the sacred geometries described in Johann Daniel Mylius' Philosophia Reformata (1622), reworking their principles in a contemporary key. Enrico Magnani brings to life four polymateric works, each dedicated to one of the primordial elements: Earth, Water, Air and Fire.

Completing the cycle, a fifth work explores the enigmatic Quintessence - a transcendent element that eludes any unambiguous definition. Love, ether, human spirit, alchemical gold: interpretations multiply, but the mystery remains intact. Through a fusion of symbols and materials, the artist invites reflection on the balance between visible and invisible, between matter and incorruptible perfection.

A tribute to Hermetic wisdom, in which art and alchemy meet to awaken new connections between man and the universe.

Technique

The materials used for these works are varied. From traditional canvas to plexiglas, from sands to lead, to brass, to natural sea sponge. Each work is developed with materials that respect the analogy with the elements of the alchemical tradition.
