Supernovae are dynamic phenomena. Magnani wanted to add this feature to his pictorial works through their digital animation by creating Supernova Animated.
This innovative series transforms original works from the Supernova and Supernova Dark Matter collections into immersive animated experiences. Using morphing, a digital transformation method, painted star explosions are reinterpreted by adding the dynamic effect by which cosmic turbulence comes to life with hypnotic realism.
Designed for large-scale projection mapping, these works transcend traditional exhibition formats to activate architectural spaces - indoor and outdoor - with their energy. The animations dissolve the boundaries between work and environment, enveloping the viewer in a sensory exploration of cosmic phenomena.
Translating physical paintings into luminous digital sequences allows Supernova Animated to achieve a paradoxical synthesis: it preserves the material essence of the original works while freeing their celestial subject in its natural state of perpetual motion. The result is a contemporary cosmogenesis - a digital meditation on the infinite cycles of stellar evolution.
