The Numerology series embodies a search for the metaphysical essence of pure number, a founding concept of the Pythagorean school that recognized in numerical relationships the archetypal structure of the cosmos. Magnani transforms this vision into a visual language where mathematical abstraction becomes luminous epiphany. The golden units - arranged in sequences reminiscent of the river pebbles used by the ancients for calculation - evoke the primordial moment when homo sapiens discovered the numerical ordering of reality. Each composition is a hymn to nascent rationality and a bridge between sensitive perception and abstract knowledge. Just as number brings light into the darkness of primordial ignorance by bringing order to chaos, so gold bursts onto the black surfaces of the works in this series.
