Much symbolism in this artwork, played between positive and negative, between the sun and the moon, between good and bad energies. It is like an “Hortus Conclusus”, an alchemical secret garden that reveals itself in small stages, where the opposites live together and are facing each other in an eternal struggle. On this existential chessboard, covered by human and divine traces, by crosses and circles, matter and signs, the destiny of humanity is tailored; a humanity that hardly finds the only possible way out from its egoistic individualism. Sun and moon, positive and negative pole, day and night, life and death, flesh and spirit. Everything in Magnani’s artworks becomes a hint to existence and life and in the labyrinthical chromatic game also dwells the essence of art.
