ELEMENTARY SYMBOLS

The Greek Cross

The Greek cross represents the physical body containing a spiritual principle (vertical component) and a material one (horizontal component). The union of vertical (male, yang) and horizontal (female, yin) is a symbol of terrestrial life. In astrology is the Earth.

The circle

The circle or the dot represents the intellect or the intellectual center of the human being, but also the male principle, the yang of oriental traditions. In astrology is the Sun.

The half Moon

The half moon represents the emotion or the emotional center of the human being, but also the female principle, the yin of oriental traditions, the cup, the Graal. In astrology is the Moon.

COMPLEX SYMBOLS

Through a specific combination of elementary symbols more complex symbols can be generated. These complex symbols contain the meaning of the fundamental principles present in the human nature and allegorically represented in the Greek-Roman mythology by the Gods. The respective position of the elementary components of the complex symbol is a key to unveil the meaning of the symbol itself.

What is above dominates what is below, what is below is dominated by what is above.

The physical body (Greek Cross) dominates the intellect (Circle). The principle of Mars is obtained: brutal force, impulsiveness, action and war.

The intellect (Circle) dominates the physical body (Greek Cross). The principle of Venus is obtained: beauty, creativity, harmony, love.

THE CHESSBOARD

The chessboard reminds the concept of duality in the world of matter. Positive and negative, male and female, light and shadow, above and below, good and evil are fighting and crossing each other in the life of every human being. The chess have an interesting symbolical meaning: a universal game in which the power of light and darkness are fighting to master the world. The struggle is between white and black pieces, between light and shadow, Titans and Gods. Anyway, the stakes are the supremacy on the world, but also the victory on ourselves, the exit from the conflict between reason and instinct, the exit from the mechanicity of the destiny and from the laws that are governing life on earth.
