About Figurative Paintings

“I’m not interested in a new opera or in a new piece, we have already so much music that we don’t need to add one more piece…”

(Karlheinz Stockhausen)

Following a parallel way to Karlheinz Stockhausen’s path, these artworks, like a mosaic, are the result of many artistic signs taken from the history of art and put together, giving life to completely autonomous forms and content. Although it does reflect the past, the sign, in these artworks, appears as something new. It’s a sign that breaks the linear evolution of art, making a “summa” of it. It’s a sign that brings the past into the present, updating and renewing the ancient contents. Evident is the presence of the mannerism, the primitivism, the African art; the signs of Picasso, Matisse, Dalì, Schiele, and Francis Bacon, Warhol, Rauschenberg, Yves Kline...  The red line of the history of art is cut in pieces and used as building material: bricks used to build a new, symbolic, solemn, and autonomous structure. And this is a meaningful mosaic, addressed to the future with a silent warning for a society involved in a perpetual decline.
