About Abstract Paintings

I work on matter. Sands, stones, earths... They are what they are before my action takes place; then, through a long work of manipulation, superposition, and mixing, working with sacred geometries and colors, layer after layer, they are transformed and transubstantiated: the impure becomes pure, the rough, sublime.
This is an alchemical work. The alchemical “Materia Prima” is distilled many times to become a precious substance, the most sublime matter: the alchemical Gold. In this work, the pure abstraction of the symbols coexists with the impure reality of matter; but everything is in everything, so the symbol is made of the same rough matter from which it escaped on the path of evolution.
The symbol is the universal a-temporal omni-comprehensive
language. The symbol talks to the beast and about the beast, it talks to the
man and about the man, it talks to God and about God. Only the use of
archetypical symbols, known since the night of the times, allows performing the
absolute eternal work. The symbol is a
shortcut joining above and below, sky and earth, heaven and hell, good and
evil.
the symbol works inside the human being producing its effects.
